Absolute Odor Control
Smell is perhaps the most powerful and lasting of all the senses. You have no doubt experienced entering a home and immediately been able to tell that pets, smokers, or those enjoying particularly pungent food reside in the abode. Or the musty smell that is mVOCs the waste product produced by mold growth.
Many of these odors go beyond unpleasantness and signal microbial growth that can have serious health consequences. If this is you Absolute can help! Our standard cleaning process employs a deodorizing rinse that takes care of many odors in and of itself. We can also sanitize with an antimicrobial such as Microban or Benefect (Botanical Disinfectant) in the rinse, as a pre-spray, utilize odor neutralizers, or even soak the carpet with an OSR mixture in extreme situations such as cat urine around the perimeter of a room. We use a Water Claw to draw the solution right through the pad and out the carpet.
Here is some of the ways we get to long lasting odor control:
- Sanitizing Rinse – anti-microbial, odor neutralizer, and deodorizer (“sanitizing mixture”) can be added to the solution used to clean your carpet or upholstery. Always recommended to reduce dust mites, bacteria, and provide odor control. An especially good idea where small children are laying or crawling on the carpet.
- Topical Sanitization – applied before the cleaning as a pre-spray or after the cleaning this method is recommended for carpet and upholstery where odors are more pervasive, especially where smaller pets have urinated or defecated in small amounts in many places.
- Sanitizing Injections – a sanitizing mixture can be injected through the backing of the carpet directly into the padding or the surface of the subfloor. Effective where urine or other malodorous liquids have penetrated the carpet backing.

- Sanitizing Soak – Similar to injections, but used when the affected area is larger. A solution mixture is poured onto the area and continuously extracted. Effective when large pets have urinated in a specific area.
- Sanitizing Fog - a sanitizing mixture is delivered via a ULV or thermal fogger. This is always recommended along with your air duct cleaning and is also useful where pets have also sprayed baseboards or where smoke has permeated walls, etc.
In many instances, especially floods and standing water, a combination of these methods need to be employed, often coupled with rapid drying. It is always important to address these odors as quickly as possible lest they become permanent. It should be noted that in some cases replacement is the only sure answer.
