1. Turn off gas and electic to non sump pump related circuits if in danger of being soaked. Same with gas appliances where pilot lights may be extinguished being careful to turn off gas as well.


2. Elevate furniture, electronics, and boxes in order to prevent wood/particle board from sponging up water. Get electronics out of basement if possible
